Overview

Sit down with Tom Neill as he covers the Public Accountancy Act and related rules and policies of the Washington State Board of Accountancy. Tom will illustrate specific applications of RCWs and WACs to the practice of public accounting in the state of Washington and review major provisions of the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct.

To help participants understand and comply with the Public Accountancy Act and the Rules and Policies of the Washington State Board of Accountancy. This course meets the four-hour ethics requirement in Washington State.

Tom Neill is one of Finney Neill & Company’s audit and accounting services stockholders. His 28 years in public accounting include financial statement preparation, tax and business consulting experience in a large variety of industries, such as senior living facilities, low-income housing, manufacturing, construction contractors, fishing and seafood, real estate development, service organizations, not-for-profit organizations, and municipal corporations. Prior to forming the firm, he worked for more than eight years in a large local CPA firm as a manager in the audit and accounting departments working primarily with manufacturers, construction contractors, fishing and seafood businesses, insurance entities, and professional service firms. For four years prior to that, he was employed by a small local CPA firm where he worked primarily with professional services and non-profit organizations, legal and medical firms, and governmental agencies. He graduated from the University of Washington in 1980 and received his CPA certificate in 1983. Tom is a past president of the WSCPA and has served on numerous committees. He is a member of the Washington State Board of Accountancy. Tom teaches Washington State ethics for the WSCPA and is available to teach in-house ethics presentations for company CPE needs.
