Grassroot Projects is a non profit charity based out of Sammamish, WA and provides outreach for children of low-income immigrant families in the greater Seattle and greater Indianapolis areas. Established in 2017 by two immigrant women, we are a 100% volunteer led organization that provides basic essentials and sponsors enrichment classes for kids. We are seeking a dedicated, driven individual to join our board as the Treasurer.

The Treasurer is responsible for ensuring the accurate reporting of the overall fiscal health, and proper documentation of the organization’s financial history for institutional records. The Treasurer takes ownership of guiding the other Board members through financial reports and analyses necessary to help the organization make best fiduciary decisions on behalf of the organization. The Treasurer works with the Executive Director (ED) and Accountant/Bookkeeper to ensure proper internal controls are followed to maintain integrity and protect the organization and its assets. The Treasurer is the Chair of the Finance Committee, and shall have charge and custody of and be responsible for funds and securities of the organization.

Each term of service for the Board is three years in length. All Board Members are expected to make a financial gift that is meaningful to them, and to be an ambassador for the organization. Treasurer can work remotely. Estimated time commitment is 5-10 hours a month, inclusive of general obligations as a member of the Board of Directors. The Board meets once a quarter for a 2-3 hour meeting via Zoom/Teams.
