Elevate your Career: Join us for an Exclusive Event in Bellingham

In challenging times, we have a choice: succumb to fear and uncertainty, or rise to the occasion with resilience, growth, and empowerment. Join us for an inspiring afternoon in Bellingham, where students and local professionals come together for an impactful event on the future of the accounting profession, and an evening of exclusive networking.

Event Agenda:

3:00 PM - 3:50 PM: Kimberly Scott, President and CEO of the WSCPA, will provide a comprehensive overview of the critical issues impacting the accounting profession's talent pipeline. We will explore the latest headlines surrounding licensing requirements, analyze national trends, and discuss anticipated state and national changes. Kimberly will also highlight how the WSCPA, alongside the broader profession, can collaborate to tackle these emerging challenges. The session will cover the six key areas identified in the National Pipeline Report, offering insights into how you can play an active role in shaping the future of the profession.

4:00-4:50 PM: Monette Anderson, WSCPA Vice President of Membership and Education, presents a hands-on workshop focused on the critical importance of building organizational habits and best practices that retain and empower strong teams. Kicking off with a moving Make-A-Wish story, Monette will guide you through the five traits of resilient teams. This interactive session includes exercises designed to help you internalize and apply these concepts within your teams, whether you are a leader or a contributor. Whether you’re looking to enhance team cohesion, improve retention, or simply build a stronger organizational culture, this workshop provides the practical tools and strategies you need to succeed in an evolving professional landscape.

5:00 PM - 7:00 PM: Networking Reception: Cap off the day with a networking reception where students, professionals, and local leaders can connect. Build valuable relationships, share insights, and expand your professional network in a relaxed, engaging atmosphere. STUDENTS: Kick off the afternoon with a personalized resume review session from 5-6p designed to help you stand out in a competitive job market.
