Financial accounts support for board serving Washington families with smart kids.

Minimal monthly financial transactions still need competent skills to manage finances of Northwest Gifted Child Association, the statewide not-for-profit organization that serves Washington's families with smart kids.

NWGCA provides online resources and two online training events a year for parents of smart children, which attract about 100-150 registrations.  While our mailing list reaches over 2000 families, we have no members or membership fees.  Our financial transactions are limited, but still need competent management.

Duties include:

  • Monthly transfer of PayPal account
  • Reconciling bank account monthly
  • Prepare monthly journal entries
  • Monthly financial statements
  • Request receipts as needed
  • Disburse funds as needed
  • Make sure we stay within nonprofit rules
  • Be familiar with Quickbooks
  • Year end reports
  • Put together a budget for review at retreat
  • In January, prepare 1099’s
  • Attend monthly meetings
